The easy way to write articles

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

1 Spelling and Grammar Still Are significant. A good ability to write is imperative, Correct Spelling and Grammar are important. Take time to check your article. The hours you spent trying to sleep in your school English Grammar classes are now giving you a return. You do need them after all, especially when you are creating articles. Free Reverse Phone Number Search

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Can you really run a reverse cell phone look up successfully? Aren’t you frustrated with websites that do not deliver on their promises? Hopefully this is not the situation with reverse cell phone lookup services.

Phone number lookups should be explained. If you have a regular phone number but don’t know the owner of the number or which address it belongs to you can use a “reverse lookup” service to find out those details. For example phone reverse lookup.

Nonrtheless there is a problem when you desire to conduct a reverse phone lookup on a cellular phone as the free directories do not contain any such numbers. Similarly they do not contain fax numbers . Do these records exist, and are they free?

Fortunately there are websites that have large databases of cell phone numbers, but they are not free. Of course these services must pay for this information, and go to the considerable trouble of gathering the massive resources together in one place, and that’s why a price is charged before you can get to the reverse phone directory databases.

Along with cell phone lookups there are also sister websites which offer up access to data such as background checks and background reports, personal databases, bankruptcies, sex offender records, police records, and much more. These sites operate in the same way, offering access to particular types of information for a set fee, nevertheless it should be noted that you will not get access to such data as part of your reverse lookup phone internet site membership.

SEO And Hosting Provider Web-Asylum.com Behind New Holiday Franchise

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Search Engine Optimisation and web hosting provider Web-Asylum is helping the owners of the RentInNerja.com to become a leading online supplier of holiday apartment/villa rentals and achieve their goal at rivalling web sites like Holiday Lettings for product awareness and market share within the next three years.

The owner of the RentIn Group, who initially purchased his first holiday property in Spain with a view to renting it out when he wasn’t using it himself, states that after looking at many rental service providers locally in Spain as well as web site service providers he was left a little frustrated that none of them seemed to be really customer focused and the online services all seemed difficult to navigate or lacking important features.

That’s when he decided to pay for a website to be created with the features he felt he needed as a property owner to enable him to manage the promotion and bookings efficiently for his and also collegues apartments and villas around the area of Nerja, Spain.

The initial developers of the site were not Search Engine Optimisers, and although they managed to build the site to the requirements of RentIn – they could only manage to get the site RentIn-Nerja.com to the top of Google for search terms specifically related to Rent Nerja !!

Relying on Adwords alone for wider search phrases used by the public was an expensive way to go, and although the business was growing… it was obvious that the cost per sale needed to be lowered for the RentIn group to grow healthily.

At this point the owner of RentIn was introduced to Martin Sansone and the services of Web-Asylum.com who have a proven track record of managing clients’ online marketing needs with an array of technology services and 20+ years of creative marketing experience.

After careful research of the apartment rental market by Web-Asylum, Martin saw the potential growth available to RentIn and recommended significant changes in the approach of the original RentInNerja.com site and quickly pushed the web site up onto page one of Google’s results page for in excess of 20 search terms. RentIn saw a huge improvement in their bottom line.

As a result agreements have been put in place to have Web-Asylum.com work closely with RentIn to ensure the continual development of the brand and mass role out of their business model initially across Spain as profitable franchises with a focus on ensuring each franchisee can enjoy a very comfortable lifestyle and income.

With the testing and completion of totally new systems for the RentIn-Marbella.com site. Web-Asylum is now providing all of the groups web hosting needs around the world and have already got orders to promote the next two totally new areas for apartment rentals in Javea as well as a Mijas apartments site both in the Costa Del Sol region of Spain. Easily reached by holiday makers from the Andalucian Malaga Airport.

Open An .ISO File

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

An ISO image is what’s called a disc backup – an exact copy of a CD or a DVD disc. ISO images are typically created as DVD backups, but they can also be made “from scratch” using a specialized editor like WinISO. An ISO file can only store a single track of data, so it doesn’t work for music CDs and a few more arcane disc types.

It may help to think of the .iso archive like a kind of archive because it usually contains a number of files and folders. However, unlike other archives (e.g. ZIP or RAR), the ISO archive stores everything in uncompressed form. Some commercial disc archive formats like UIF files and .daa file also support file compression.

To open an ISO image you will need to install one of the many ISO file tools. There’s a multitude of applications that can extract the ISO images, but most of them are either very expensive or simply lack any defining traits that would let you make an informed choice. So which one should you pick? Depending on your goal, there are two applications that I would recommend.

First, if you only need to open the archive, use 7-zip. It’s a free open-source archiver that can open ISO DVD images. It will let you open the disc image, but that’s it – 7-zip can’t burn, mount or create new .iso files. It’s a neat and simple application and it supports Windows and Unix-based systems.

In case you need a bit more features you should probably get a fully-fetured ISO image application like PowerISO. Yes, it’s shareware, but it will let you do nearly anything you want with an ISO or .uif files – open it, edit, load it in a virtual drive, convert to a different format, and burn to a physical disc. PowerISO only supports Windows, though.

To summarize, ISO is a popular, open DVD archive format that is supported by most DVD applications. Some general-purpose archivers can also extract .iso archives, but they generally can’t do anything else with them.

Demolition

Introduction

Taking down old buildings and replacing them with new is a process that has been going on for thousands of years. The destruction of buildings might have occurred during battles or attacks on villages; or due to natural disturbances such as earthquakes or volcanic activity. The resultant ruins would need to be removed and rebuilt. So the idea of demolition would have come about where a population wished to re-inhabit a specific area or site. (One famous example is the Holy Temple in Jerusalem which was deliberately destroyed by the Assyrians around 586 BCE. After 50 years of occupation the Jews returned to Jerusalem and began the re-construction of the second temple which took seventy years to complete.)

However the actual word to demolish only came into being in 1570, and was used from then on to mean the deliberate taking down or destroying of a building or structure.

Preserving the past – preparing the future.

In a country like Britain with very dense populations per square mile, there is a limited amount of land available for development. The land between built up areas of the villages and towns is known as Green Belt and is protected from development to preserve the agricultural and natural heritage which is vital to the economy of the country.

The outcome of this policy is that there is a constant shortage of land for housing and industry, so the developers have to be more creative when providing structures for the population. One of the ways of doing this is to find places where the buildings are no longer commercially viable or have been abandoned, and re-use the area for different purposes. These areas are known as brownfield, or greyfield sites. In some cities, particularly Leeds and Manchester, the old warehouses or factories have been converted into apartments, retaining the original shell and reconfiguring the internal dimensions into valuable living accommodation.

Brownfield sites are disused industrial and commercial facilities where the land may be contaminated with hazardous waste or pollution. They are potentially valuable for significant redevelopment once they have been cleaned up. Greyfield sites are urban properties that have been underutilised or abandoned, but do not have the environmental issues of brownfield sites. They were termed greyfield sites because of large areas of asphalt that covered the land. These sites are valuable because they already have the infrastructure such as water, sewage, electricity and gas in place and do not need remedial work to exploit the site.

When a structure is to be removed there are different ways of approaching the task. The size and construction of the building, the new use of the site and whether there are valuable elements suitable for re-use, will all determine how it is to be demolished.

Traditional Demolition

Traditionally, once all the services were disconnected, the machinery and men would go in and just knock down the walls which caused the roof to collapse and then drag all the remains away. Any concrete hard standing would be broken up ready for removal. The old ways of excavation just removed site waste and disposed of it at landfill sites. However modern demolition practices are very controlled and are subject to strict planning, safety and monitoring regulations.

Small structures such as two or three storey houses can be dismantled quite easily with hydraulic excavators and bulldozers using an undermining process. The walls are undermined at the base, in order to topple the structure; at the same time the manner and direction of the fall is controlled. Clean-up and safety issues are also taken into account when determining how the building will be undermined and demolished.

Larger buildings such as tower blocks and chimneys require more specialist techniques, and are outlined below.

Deconstruction

A new approach to demolishing buildings is deconstruction – a green approach. The aim is to minimise the amount of waste going to landfill sites by carefully preserving valuable materials for reuse. The work may be a painstaking task of dismantling by hand – brick by brick – or beam by beam. The reclaimed materials are then recycled or re-used for future buildings. The results of deconstruction can save in excess of 90% waste from going to a landfill site. When the farmer opposite to my house sold his farm yard with barns for housing, the builder demolished the barns, cleaned up the bricks and reused them for the perimeter wall of the farmhouse. At the time I was looking for some rubble as a base for a path and the builder let me take several barrow loads off his pile.

Recycling

Historically when old buildings were ruined from disuse or war damage the local people would gradually remove the stone and use it to build their new structures such as houses or barns. Hadrian’s wall between Carlisle and Newcastle has mostly gone because after the Romans left, the local population made off with the beautifully dressed stone the Roman craftsmen had used in the building of the wall. So even in those days people understood the value of recycling because it was much cheaper than having to quarry and dress the stone themselves.

At one time the rubble resulting from a demolished building would be taken to a landfill site for disposal. Now however concrete can be rapidly broken up with the latest machine called a guillotine and the resultant rubble can be crushed and used as sub-base material for the foundation of the new building which is to replace the old, or sent to other construction sites. These days this crushed rubble is called 6f2 crushed stone or 6f2 crushed material.

Modern machinery and techniques allows the demolition companies to efficiently segregate waste types on or off-site. Wherever possible construction materials are recycled and re-used in the new structure. Recycling of waste contributes to a considerable savings in project costs and is good for the environment.

When we renovated our bungalow 20 years ago the builder, who was a bell ringer, found an old beam from a bell tower that was being renovated, and after carefully treating it, installed it in the kitchen. It gave the room some badly needed character and has never needed any further treatment.

Copper pipes, wiring, roof tiles or slates, floor tiles and doors, and wood panelling are some of the valuable objects that are saved for recycling and re-use. There are specialist yards in many towns where reclaimed old or antique artefacts are available for purchase.

Tall Buildings

When building demolition is performed on very large structures, such as high towers, then only specialists should be used. In some cases a wrecking ball on a crane may be used to demolish the top part of a tall building until it is down to a manageable height. However this process is rarely used by professional demolition companies today due to the uncontrollable factor of the swinging ball and the proximity of other buildings.

Other methods of demolition of tall buildings are by implosion using explosives, controlled collapse and piecemeal. Also ‘High Reach’ demolition excavators are used where explosives are not suitable. Once the building is down to a more manageable height demolition continues in the usual way.

The steeplejack Fred Dibnah became famous in the late 1970’s for his work on demolishing tall chimneys without the need for explosives. He would cut an ingress at the base of the chimney, use wooden props to support the brickwork and then burn the props so that the chimney toppled hopefully in the right direction.

The tallest building to be lawfully demolished was the Singer Building of New York in 1967/8. More recently the collapse of the World Trade Centre after the 9/11 attack in 2001 illustrates the terrible devastation that could occur if the demolition is not controlled and very carefully contained.

In the demolishing of tall buildings and large structures water hoses and spray equipment is used to control the dust and would is termed a wet demolition.

Explosions

What comes to mind for many people when they think about demolition would be the dramatic collapse of a tall building using explosives. However it is usually the process of implosion, using explosives, that brings down a tall building so that it does as little damage as possible to the surrounding environment. Implosion is essential for dense urban areas and is very fast, the collapse taking only seconds, with the building dropping inwards into its own footprint.

Using explosives is specialist work and is a very skilled process and getting it wrong can be catastrophic. If an implosion is not prepared correctly the danger may be damage to neighbouring structures or even killing onlookers from flying debris. Even more dangerous is a partial collapse of a building where the remaining structure is unstable and there are still primed explosives that failed to go off. Workers are in great danger if or when continuing the demolition.

Other risks of working with explosives occurs when the atmospheric pressure from low cloud above the implosion site will cause the shockwave to spread outwards instead of upwards. The wave of energy and sound created will break windows and cause other damage to the surrounding buildings.

Because of the dangers of working with explosives, implosion will only be used when other methods are too costly or impractical.

Health and Safety

Demolition of any building is highly dangerous and is a much more complicated and technical process than most people would realise. Experienced and skilled operators are essential to ensure safety for both workers and public alike. The stability of any structure is reliant on the interdependence of its component parts, so an incorrect sequence of dismantling could result in a premature collapse.

Health and safety is paramount in demolition work so personnel working in the industry have to be appropriately trained. It is advisable for operatives to have gained a Certificate of Competence in Demolition to ensure they have the necessary skills and safety awareness. All demolition work is regulated by the Construction, Design and Management Regulations.

Sequence of Demolition

There has to be a sequence of actions before any demolition can take place. Each area council will have their own specific list for planning approval, but a typical order would be as follows:-

  • Provision of Information
The demolition company must provide information about the construction to be demolished, its previous use and the appropriate demolition method to be applied including disposal of hazardous substances.
  • Survey of Demolition
Identification of any structural problems as well as risks associated with hazardous or flammable substances these include asbestos and require asbestos surveys be performed.Where petrol has been stored, in a disused garage for example, precautions need to be taken to prevent a fire hazard.
  • Preferred and Safe Method of Work
A reputable company involved in demolition will be able to select the appropriate method of disposal. Planning and outlining the dismantling process is necessary for vigilant monitoring. A detailed statement outlining the safety process needs to be agreed by all parties involved before any demolition can take place.
  • Preparation and Planning
There is a lot of preparation to be done before starting work on demolishing the building itself. Issues such as asbestos abatement, disconnecting utilities, rodent baiting, dealing with hazardous substances and making safe any electric, gas or other services have to be resolved.
  • Protection of the Public
Where demolition is carried out in heavily populated areas the protection of the public is paramount. Safety cannot be compromised. Temporary services may need to be arranged, health hazards assessed and people disturbed will need to be informed.

Conclusion

The word ‘demolish’ is interpreted as the deliberate and controlled collapse of a structure. Demolition work is a very hazardous business and demolishing any building is a complex and skilled process. The aim in demolition is to remove an unwanted building as safely and quickly as possible, recycle or re-use most of the old material, and clear the site ready for the subsequent use.

In the centre of Nottingham over the last few years there has been a major reconstruction of what was an old car park into a brand new shopping centre. While this was going on the public were only really aware of the boarding around the area, a change in traffic direction and maybe some big lorries going in and out of the site.

So the next time you see houses being demolished to make way for the new, give a thought to the company involved who’s team are daily working in a dangerous environment, adhering to all of the regulations and carefully and meticulously carrying out the project to bring us the modern conveniences we have come to expect and clearing the way for the future.

Epiphone Guitars Impressions

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Epiphone guitars have a long story. Epiphone was a family business established in 1873 by Anastasios Stathopoulo, a greek violin maker, as “the House of Stathopoulo”. In 1923 they incorporated and at this stage made mostly high quality and fancy banjos. In 1928 the name was changed to “Epiphone” after Epi Stathopoulo, chairman of the company and one of the founder’s sons. In the 1930’s, the company modified its emphasis to guitars. Epiphone successfully switched to guitar production.

The C.G. Conn Company (a band instrument builder) bought Epiphone in 1953 and moved production to Philidelphia (although the labels still said New York). This was done because New York Epiphone workers were in conflict with the Stathopoulio family. Later, in 1955, the Stathopoulo family regained control, but few if any instruments were made in 1956 and 1957.

Epiphone guitars draw interest from different kinds of buyers. Someone collects older Epiphones as vintage guitars. Others buy the newer Epiphones as habitual playing and performance guitars, whether they find them new or used. Epiphone belongs to the Gibson family of brands. Many modern Epiphone models closely track the models sold under the Gibson brand, but they are considerably less expensive. Debate rages among guitar players as to whether the price differential is justified.

Many believe that Gibson brand guitars are of higher quality, and worth higher prices. Others love their Epiphones, and wouldn’t trade them for any other guitars. Meanwhile, vintage guitar collectors prize older Epiphones partly for their historical interest.

I collect and play mostly vintage Gibson guitars and recently started purchasing Epiphones to give the Gibsons a break. I have been very amused with the new Prophecy series from Epiphone. Futuras with the EMG’s and the SG GX with the Dirty Fingers all play and sound huge. I started purchasing Dirty Fingers PUP’s two years ago to replace standard Epiphone PUP’s in my other Epiphones when they first became available from Gibson. I’m very happy. Epiphone had the same idea and made this an easy purchase without my having to reconfigure the electronics. All I can say is if you get a chance to get a Epiphone Prophecy series guitar, buy it while they are still available. They are more than worth the small investment if you are a serious musician.

As a absolutely fan of Gibson guitars it very likely doesn’t surprise you that there are a lot of Epiphone guitars that I would buy and that I have recommended to other people. Epiphone’s are great for people who enjoy the look and feel of a Gibson, especially the Les Paul style guitars, but who’s budget doesn’t allow the luxury of a Gibson. Obviously if anyone thinks to compare the Epiphone Les Paul with a Gibson Les Paul, he has unrealistic expectations. But having said that, most Epiphones sound pretty well with some new strings and a set up. If you invest a few more dollars into a new set up pickups, you can really get some fantastic sounds that would be more than appropriate for a live application.

The Epiphone Les Pauls aren’t the only guitars that Epiphone makes. Their hollowbody and semi hollow body guitars are indeed great instruments and have tremendous value in terms of the quality of tone versus the price that you pay. And most of the Epiphone hollowbodys I have ever played play excellent right out of the box. Again you will very likely want to take it to your local guitar shop and get it set up with some new strings and maybe new pickups for the truely ambitious that want to customize their sound. But if you do that, you will have a great sounding guitar for a very affordable price and you don’t have to buy new pickups or get a set up as part of your initial cost so it makes it that much more affordable. If you love Gibsons but can’t really make that kind of financial committment for a guitar, I recommend trying an Epiphone and see how you like it. I think you will be intensely enthusiastic.

The Epiphone Tony Iommi Signature G-400 Electric Guitar is what you want for heavy hitting sound. Classic SG attitude is enhanced with black chrome hardware, mother-of-pearl cross fingerboard inlays and, on the solid mahogany body, a matching black finish. The Gibson USA Tony Iommi pickups put out the firepower required for maximum destruction and the slim-tapered mahogany neck is fast. Epiphone guitars can be a big surprise!

Starting from 1873, Epiphone instruments have been proudly played and endorsed by professional musicians. And while every Epiphone is the result of over 126 years of experience working directly with musicians, only a few embody a single artists individual creativity and spirit. The Epiphone Signature Collection guitars are as mythical and as individual as the artists themselves. The Les Paul guitar is equivalent of Rock and Roll. No other guitar is so powerful and and gives you the sustain and the sound of a Les Paul. If its got Les Pauls signature on the headstock, its the real thing… Don’t accept substitutes!

Fight Hives With Vitamins And Herbs That Contain Anti-Histamine Properties

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

Have you ever experienced a hive or don’t you know if you have or not. A hive is a welt or rash that breaks out on the skin. Generally a hive is a large bump or dozens of bumps that break out on the skin when one comes in contact with a chemicals, plants, and lotions. Hives if sever enough can be life threatening such as when taking a prescription drug from the doctor.

The following are some of the drugs and other substances that most commonly cause outbreaks of hives in susceptible people: animals, aspirin, allopurinol, antimony, antipyrine, barbituarates, BHA, BHT, bismuth, cancer, chloral hydrate, chlorpromazine, cologne or perfume, corticotrophin, environmental factors, eucalyptus, exercise, fluorides, food allergies, food colorings and preservatives, gold, griseofulvin, hyperthyroidism, infections, insect bites, insulin, iodines, liver extract, makeup, menthol, meprobamate, mercury, morphine, opium, para-aminosalicylic acid, penicillin, phenacetin, Phenobarbital, pilocarpine, plants, poliomyelitis vaccine, potassium sulfocyanate, preservatives, procaine, promethazine, quinine, reserpine, saccharin, salicylates, soaps, shampoo, sulfites, tartrazine, and thiamine hydrochloride.

Other possible hives-provoking substances are being identified with increasing frequency. Meat, dairy, and poultry products are increasingly being associated with hives, especially those in frozen or fast foods. This is probably because many farmers and ranchers often give their livestock antibiotics in order to prevent disease or infection. These antibiotics are not affected by freezing, processing, or cooking. Many allergic reactions have been traced to antibiotics in milk, soft drinks, and frozen dinners.

The following nutrients have been recommended for the treatment and prevention of hives: acidophilus, flaxseed oil, garlic, a multivitamin and mineral complex, quercetin, vitamin B complex, vita C with bioflavonoids, vitamin D3, and vitamin E.

Additionally, the following herbs may be beneficial: alfalfa, bilberry extract, cat’s claw, chamomile, Echinacea, ginseng, licorice, nettle, sarsaparilla, yellow dock, aloe vera gel, black nightshade, and red alder tree leaves and bark.

Look to your local or internet health food store for great vitamins and herbal supplements to help with hives. Many herbs and vitamins have anti-histamine properties as well as anti-inflammatory properties that can help fight out break of hives one may experience through out your life.

If You Are Diabetic You Will Need a Diabetic Diet Sheet

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

When you’re initially diagnosed as having diabetes and start learning about counting calories and what types of food you want to eat and what kinds of food you totally have to avoid, it can all be terribly confusing. The best way to sort out this confusion is to sit down with with a diabetic diet sheet and plan out your meals. If you do not need to do that  and often it can be quite tricky ], you can carry a diabetic diet sheet with you and fill it in as you eat.

One of the hardest things, naturally, is knowing the calorie count for each meal or break. You can look on the packaging, of course, but sometimes it’s very hard to determine if you are eating an entire portion of something. If you’re eating in a cafe, you can usually ask an employee to find calorie information for you, but sometimes they simply do not have that information available. In that case, you may want to log on to find the info. Most eateries [ especially fast food restaurants ] have full nutritive info available on their sites. You can fill in your diabetic diet sheet using this info. As you continue to adjust to your new diabetic diet, you will at last know the diet info of many of your favorite meals. You will even get into an eating habit where you do not even need a diabetic diet sheet. However, it never injures to have one on hand in in case you need to record your daily intake.
